All-new walking football club South Lincs Steelers would welcome new members

Walking football enthusiasts in South Holland have a new club to cater for them.

The newly-formed South Lincs Steelers Walking Football Club, who are what remains of the now defunct Spalding Walking Football Club, was founded by Jason Putterill, James Scaife and John Short.

The non-profit club are affiliated with the Lincolnshire FA and have all the correct insurances in place.

They have started playing sessions on Monday evenings at Glen Park in Surfleet (5.45pm) and have enjoyed a good attendance every week so far.

Anyone is welcome to come and play whether they are just looking to get some exercise, improve their football skills or just looking for a new social scene.

South Lincs Steelers members are aged mainly 40 and over, but players of all ages and genders are welcome to attend.

Up and coming friendlies and events: SLS v Boston United Community Foundation (today, Glen Park, 6pm); SLS in a four-team mini tournament at Sleaford (October 11, 4pm, matches against, Sleaford Academicals, Wisbech and Rustons); SLS (60+) v Boston (60+) (October 12, 5.45pm, Glen Park).
