Alfie reigns in torrential Tydd test

Alfie Cooper took the honours in Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s Men’s Autumn Open which attracted more than 100 players.

 
The competition was played in very wet conditions which was ideal for the course, but not so good for golfers.

 
Most of the hardy players stuck it out until the end with several shooting under par despite the conditions.

 
Cooper returned a nett 67 to finish top of the 112-player field with Mark Whittaker (77-9=68) taking second spot on countback from Gino Ciuffini (76-8=68).
