Former skipper Dan Adams ran in a hat-trick of tries as a mixed Spalding RFC side won a friendly fixture 44-0 at Boston on Saturday.
The game, which is Town’s first since the COVID-19 pandemic curtailed the season last year, were also under the stewardship of new first team captain Luke Turner for the first time.
Spalding started strongly and, after solid home defending, finally broke through when Turner crossed from close range.
Harvey King, who was making his senior debut having turned 17, got onto the score sheet shortly after, while there were also tries for Callum Lewis, Harry Sharman, Conall Mason and Gav Sharman in the first half.
The Elephants made changes in the second half but continued to play some cracking rugby – leading to a hat-trick from Adams.
The Spalding defence was a great throughout and shut Boston out.
