Ace Andrew on-song with impressive win at Tydd Gote Angling Club’s latest meet

The Tydd Gote Angling Club Sunday match at Main Road saw some consistently impressive weights.

It was Andrew Kilby who led the way with 18lb 12oz of silvers and a bonus 4lb plus tench.

He caught, after 20 minutes, a good stamp of roach, perch and skimmers, adding his tench over his pinkie line.

Although the better fish moved out, he kept smaller silvers coming throughout the match to clinch the win.

Don Green was on the concrete again and started off catching small fish to pinkie and worm. But a switch to tares over hemp saw the quality roach arrive, with Green expertly transferring 16lb 10oz of them into his net for the runners-up spot.

Archie Greenwood wasn’t too far behind with a pinkie-based net of big roach with some bonus skimmers up to a pound for his 15lb 4oz.

Steve Borrett was behind him in fourth with a mostly smaller fish weight of 12lb 4oz to pinkie and maggot.

Wednesday Open (at Main Road): 1st John Taylor 23lb 4oz; 2nd Mick Asker 18lb 1oz; 3rd Dennis Houghton 14lb 12oz.
