Accolade for undertakers

A Spalding undertakers is among those across the county to have been recognised for its services to the community in the past year.

Spalding Funeral Home won the gold award for Funeral Branch of the Year at Lincolnshire Co-Op’s awards, this year held virtually.

Funeral services manager Debbie Staff said: “I’m so proud to be part of a team that has pulled together despite the challenges we’ve faced.

“We’ve supported each other throughout so we can continue to provide important services to the community.

“To have won Gold Funeral Branch of the Year during such a difficult time is a testament to the dedication and hard work of my colleagues.”

Lincolnshire Co-op also gave out additional special awards during the week for 23 colleagues across the society who had gone above and beyond during the year.

All 2,900 colleagues working for Lincolnshire Co-op being given an award and a £50 gift to celebrate their achievements over the past year.

The society’s chief executive Ursula Lidbetter said: “Every colleague has played a part this year, so it’s fantastic that we are able to celebrate our collective achievements, as well as individual accolades.”
