Abbi’s back on track

A sixth place finish was the highlight but it was a largely frustrating return to action for Abbi Pulling as the British Formula Four series got underway.

Donington Park hosted the first round of the season with three races and the JHR Developments driver qualified an impressive sixth for the first of those.

But contact with Rafael Villagomez, who finished sixth, left the Gosberton ace needing a new front wing and after a lengthy stop she finished a lap down in 15th.

In race two Pulling came from the rear of the field to land the sixth place finish amid a chaotic race that had to be re-started following a collision and shortened to 15 minutes.

Pulling was JHR’s only points scorer as her teammates Nathanael Hodgkiss and James Hedley failed to finish.

It was Pulling though who suffered from contact in Sunday’s race three which Hedley won.

She was involved in a collision with Roman Bilinski which left her stuck in the gravel with damage on the exit of the Roberts chicane.
