A17 closed after three vehicle collision

The A17 at Long Sutton is currently blocked after a three vehicle collision.

The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is among the emergency services called to the road’s junction with with the A1101 following the incident which occurred at around 1pm this afternoon (Wednesday, December 16).

Lincolnshire Police said the incident involved a green and red DAF HGV, a red Peugeot 207 and a black VW Touran.

“One of the drivers has been taken to hospital with serious injuries,” a police spokesperson said.

At least three people were injured in the incident according to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.

Crews from Long Sutton, Spalding and Cambridgeshire attended the incident who had to remove a car door to get one person out while three were treated at the scene, the services said.
