A16 roundabout closed following two vehicle collision

An A16 roundabout at Spalding was closed this afternoon (Tuesday January 27) following a collision.

Lincolnshire Police had said the junction was ‘expected to be closed for some time’ at lunchtime, though reports locally say that at the time of writing (5.10pm) the roundabout was back open.

The Voice has contacted Lincolnshire Police for an update.

A police spokesman previously said: “We are at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the A16 Low Road roundabout in the Spalding area.

“All the roundabout exits have been closed and we are advising people to avoid the area if possible.

“The collision is expected to cause significant disruption, as the roundabout is expected to be closed for some time.”

The road is currently meant to be the diversion route for the closure of Commercial Road in Spalding. It’s closed this week due to work being carried out by Cadent.

One resident along the Spalding side of Low Road said he’d seen eight lorries having to make lengthy turns on the residential road.
