Car driver suffered serious injuries after collision with HGV that closed A16

A man was left with serious injuries after a collision between a HGV and car closed the A16 between Spalding and Cowbit last night.

Following the incident involving a Peugeot 206 reported shortly after 5pm, the road was closed from the ‘Applegreen’ roundabout to the village for two hours.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “The driver of the Peugeot, a man in 40s, suffered serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. He was taken to hospital.

“There were no other injuries.

“Any witnesses can call us on 101, quoting incident 240 of January 4.”
