A glimpse into WI group

A local Women’s Institute saw some new faces last week after hosting an open afternoon.

Tollgate WI invited local women to go along and experience the atmosphere of a typical WI meeting.
There was a chance to see the activities engaged in from monthly speakers to an always well-attended Luncheon Club whilst enjoying a chat and light refreshments.
The group’s archives were on display detailing past notable events and competitions entered with many photographs of current and previous members spanning over 40 years.
A spokesman for the group said: “It was a very chatty and enjoyable occasion welcoming many new faces and giving past members the opportunity to catch up and rekindle old friendships.”
Tollgate WI meet on the third Tuesday of the month in St John’s Church Lounge on Hawthorn Bank, Spalding.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at 7.30pm.
Entry is £4 to include speaker and light refreshments.
