A chance to try croquet

If you’ve ever fancied giving croquet a go, now’s your chance.

Gosberton Croquet Club is taking part in a national croquet event called Croquet and Cakes.

The event takes place on Saturday, May 2 from 10am to 4pm.

This new club is based at Gosberton Bowls and Snooker Club at the rear of Gosberton public hall.

Equipment is provided, just wear flat soled shoes.

Croquet is a low impact sport played on lawns where players use mallets to hit balls through a sequence of hoops.

It’s very easy to learn; yet offers deep strategy, making it a game you can enjoy casually or competitively.

Croquet welcomes all ages and skill levels and is a fantastic social activity for those looking to enjoy a friendly game.

So whether you have played before or are completely new to the game why not give it a go?

Croquet can help you to stay active, engage the mind, enjoy the outdoors and meet different people. After taking up croquet, you can feel more energised, mentally refreshed, and socially connected. It’s a game that fosters confidence, resilience, and great enjoyment.

Croquet provides an option for people looking for ways to engage in a new activity that can help reinvigorate their personal life and feeling of wellbeing whether trying to overcome isolation; needing to get a better work life balance; needing to find a new activity that gives the same challenges of a vigorous sport that they find hard to play due to injury or illness, or of course can be played just for fun.
