A blooming lovely gesture

Women at a Spalding hospital had their Mother’s Day brightened up thanks to some friends.

Every year the Friends of Johnson Hospital hand out flowers on Mother’s Day to those at the hospital.
“This small yet heartfelt gesture has been part of our tradition for many years and is warmly received by the patients,” said its secretary Christine Grocock. “The Friends buy the floral displays from Flowers n Things, a local business in Spalding that is always incredibly accommodating.
“We deeply appreciate their support in helping us bring a little joy to those spending Mother’s Day away from home.
“Being in hospital can be difficult at any time, but it can feel especially hard on a day meant for celebrating with loved ones. That’s why the Friends are always delighted to bring a smile to the faces of patients and brighten their day in a simple yet meaningful way.
“A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support the work we do.”
