Billiards round-up: Duo in seventh heaven after maximum wins in Spalding and District League

Two teams enjoyed maximum 7-0 wins in the Spalding and District Billiards League on Monday night.

Long Sutton were the first to register a whitewash as they saw off hosts Holbeach B.

John Dawson (R30), Joe Garland (R70) and Mick Cooper (O190) all recorded frame wins, with the latter bagging breaks of 58 and 47.

Gosberton A were the other team to take seven points as they eased past visitors Consti B.

Jamie Mumby (R80), Peter Waterfall (R110) and Malc Dennis (R110) grabbed their frame victories.

The best break of the week came from the league’s leading player, Rob Childs (O270).

He made scores of 73, 56 and 40 as Crowland A defeated Holbeach A 5-2 – but was the only cueman not to win for the victors.

Elsewhere, Donington delivered a 5-2 win at Pyramid B.

Jim Thompson (R60) and Nigel Brasier (R100) grabbed the frame wins for them, but Darrell Read (R30) did make a 30 break as he secured two points for the Bourne side.
