Snooker round-up: Leaders Tulips B beaten by on-song Bourne SC A as title race intensifies

Bourne SC A threw their hat into the ring in the Spalding and District Snooker League Division One title race after beating table-topping Tulips B in the first round of 2020 fixtures.

The Bourne side prevailed 4-2 against hosts Tulips on Thursday night, with big wins coming from Mark Gray (O105), Oliver Player (O28) and Pete Hodgson Kerry (O21).

Gray and Player impressed with breaks of 41 and 40 respectively to move third-placed BSC A to within four points of top spot.

That is now co-held by Tulips and Pyramid D after the latter picked up a 5-1 home success over Consti B.

A 31 break from Marcus Hamilton (O35) and key black ball frame successes from Dennis Pearson (O7) and Pete Jackson (scr) were the match highlights.

Six points off top spot in fourth are Services A, who earned a 5-1 triumph over club mates Services C.

Chris Dunmore (O21) chipped in with a 21 break for the C side in that one.

Elsewhere, Pyramid F eased their relegation fears with a 5-1 victory over Holbeach C.

In Division Three, Consti J enjoyed a 5-1 win over Whittlesey B despite a 22 break from Steve Jennings (O28).
