Spalding steps into Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Spalding.

Sunday, December 8 saw the town’s Christmas lights switched on and it was preceded by a day of fun and activities.

The headline act once again was Santa Claus himself.

Throughout the town centre and at Ayscoughfee Hall were a host of games and stalls.

Real-life barn animals proved popular and there was also the chance to stand inside a snow globe.

A host of circus rides were also on offer at Ayscoughfee.

The weekend also marked the start of the Nutcracker Trail a competition where you can win a Christmas hamper.

Nutcracker soldiers have been hidden in shops around Spalding and you have until December 22 to find them.

The shops and businesses taking part include Bookmark, South Holland Centre, Hills Department Store, Charmed Interiors and Lloyds Pharmacy, with trail booklets available from participating businesses, the South Holland Centre, Ayscoughfee Hall and the council’s Priory Road offices.
