Snooker round-up: Nine wins out of ten for table-topping duo Consti F and Bourne SC B

Two teams boast an impressive record of nine wins from ten matches after the latest round of fixtures in the Spalding and District Snooker League on Thursday night.

Both Division Two leaders Consti F and third tier pace-setters Bourne SC B have enjoyed incredible starts to the season and secured strong successes last week.

Consti F moved five points clear in the race for Division Two glory by whitewashing Services B 6-0. They sealed that triumph with a black ball victory from Warren Peel (scr) in the final frame.

It was a little tougher for Bourne SC B in Division Three, but they edged out hosts Consti D to stay three points clear of the rest.

Jason Bates (O70) was the hero for the leaders at the death, pipping Geoff Ellingworth (R14) on the final black to clinch the win.

Back in the second tier, Boundary C are Consti’s closest rivals after a 4-2 victory at Holbeach B.

Jim Howe (O42) lit up that game for the Deepings side with a super 60 break, while team-mate Dougie Lythgoe (O14) added a 22 clearance.

However, fellow high-fliers Donington A slipped to a 4-2 home defeat against Holbeach E despite a 22 break from Tony Scully (O35).

There was another close clash as Whittlesey C shaded their game at Sutton Bridge 4-2. Once again, it went to the final black of the game – with Simon Parker (O7) pipping Tom Horspool (O42).

Meanwhile, Pyramid B are Bourne SC B’s leading rivals in Division Three.

They saw off Consti E 4-2, with Lester Gaunt (O35) settling the contest in the final frame.

Gosberton D are also in the chasing pack after their 5-1 win over struggling Consti A. Black ball wins from Deacon Hempsall (R7) and Andy Adair (scr) were key for them.

But Consti I slipped a little off the pace thanks to a 4-2 home reverse at the hands of Gosberton C.

Also in the third tier, a 22 break from Malc Bruce (O7) steered Whittlesey A to a 5-1 win over Consti J.

Up in Division One, Pyramid D moved three points clear by beating Pyramid F 5-1. That derby showcased breaks of 34 and 31 by Jason Green (O63) and James Sharpe (O49) respectively.

Their nearest rivals are now Long Sutton A, who were 4-2 winners at Holbeach D.

A 25 clearance from Sean Swinburn (O49) and Stuart Atkin’s (O49) 20 break helped them on their way.

However, Tulips B lost ground after slipping up 5-1 at Services C in an all-Spalding affair.

Jordan Philpott (R14), Geoff Hemsil (R21), Shane Cummins (O14) and Kev Fitter (O21) were the winners for Services on the night.

There was better news for Tulips A, as they saw off Donington C 4-2 despite a cool 28 break from Neil Reynolds (O49).

It was also 4-2 as Boundary A knocked off hosts Consti B.

This one went all the way, with Stewart Lilley (scr) winning the final frame.

Elsewhere, breaks of 25 and 24 from Vince Fitter (O28) couldn’t stop Services A going down 4-2 at home to Holbeach A. Mick Ayres (O7) made a 22 break for them.
