Two Spalding Triathlon Club athletes bossed their respective age groups at the Woodhall Spa Sprint Triathlon.

Both Alistair Rudd and Mike Staines came first in their categories at the popular event, which always goes down well with Spalding members.
For Staines it was a fond farewell, as the event marked his final race before retirement.

Athletes completed a 400m swim in an outdoor pool and an undulating 15 mile bike ride, before finishing with a flat 5k run.

Varied weather of rain showers and a cool wind made life a little tricky for the Spalding contingent, but all six members put in a good effort and came out with some great times.

Wendy Lane was a very happy lady after beating last year’s time, while Chris Pithey, Annabel Brackstone and Jax Sesstein were the others to complete the course.

Results: Alistair Rudd 1.07.05hrs; Chris Pithey 1.09.57hrs; Mike Staines 1.15.28hrs; Wendy Lane 1.29.28hrs; Annabel Brackstone 1.38.14hrs; Jax Sesstein 2.07.20hrs.
