With the new football season rapidly approaching Spalding United are offering the younger generation the ideal opportunity to get into the swing of things by taking part in their first ever three-day Summer Soccer Academy.

The event is being led by the club’s leading marksman Andrew Tidswell and first team assistant manager, former Peterborough United and Everton star Marcus Ebdon, who are both UEFA licensed coaches.

It will take place at the Tulips’ Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, from Monday, July 28 to Wednesday July 30, between 10am and 3pm on each day.

Children aged between five and 12 years can join the course for each of the individual days or sign up for the whole three-day package (at a discounted rate) which promises to be a superb sequence of fun and activity.

The focus of the Academy will be on helping youngsters develop their footballing skills and help them learn new tricks in the various technical areas, which they can apply through game play in a series of small-sided matches.

All participants will receive a certificate on completion of whichever day or three-day course they attend.

The cost for each child is £12 per day, or £30 for attendance across the full three-days (a solid saving of £6 on the combined individual day rate).

Parents are encouraged to provide their children with a packed lunch and water is strongly advised, as is sun cream and sun hats if the weather, as hoped for, is hot.

You can download an application form from the Tulips’ website www.spaldingunited.co.uk and find further details on the course there – plus all other things Spalding United and their youth section.
