A group of volunteers that helps young people with disabilities take part in equestrian events celebrated its end of term with its annual summer gala.
The Fenland branch of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) regularly holds sessions with the pupils from The Priory and The Garth schools.
The gala itself saw extra games and attractions as well as a demonstration from equestrian competitor and former Priory pupil James Rollo.
A host of certificates and rosettes were handed out.
The Margaret Barron Clark memorial trophy was presented to Abigail Young and Hannah Watkins for their exceptional perseverance and determination.
Riley Kobleck also received an extra award for his can-do attitude and for mastering riding trot in very few sessions.
Jaxson Elderkin was awarded a special instructor’s trophy for triumphing over his fears to discover his love and enjoyment of riding.
One of the around 40 volunteers who run the sessions, Angela Southwell, said: “We were delighted to have so many children and supporters attend.
“We had some delegates from the Trefoil Guild who came along to see the riders in action and help us with serving coffees and teas, so we were thrilled to see them again as they have very kindly supported our group with some of their fundraising activities.”
