Sensational start for Spalding Netball Club as Falcons are grounded

A superb team performance saw Spalding Netball Club win their first-ever competitive game last week.

The newly-formed Tulips beat the Falcons 27-17 on Thursday night to start the Boston League summer season in superb style.

Captain Hayley Stevens said: “Some great centre pass plays gave us a great seven-goal lead in the first quarter.

“We continued to push through with some great interceptions in the circle and held the lead, widening the gap with each quarter.

“Falcons came out fighting in the final quarter, winning that by one goal, but it wasn’t enough.

“Special mention to Eden Willmott for the umpire’s player-of-the-match award and Sophie Hunt who was the players’ player.”
