Groups for those with diabetes to be set up in Spalding and Long Sutton

Two new peer support groups for people living with diabetes and their friends and family are opening their doors.

The Diabetes UK groups will be run in Spalding and Long Sutton by Hayley Gedney, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2017.

The groups will meet monthly offering support, information and advice to anyone affected by diabetes or interested to learn more about the condition.

The first Spalding event takes place on Friday, April 26 at 6 Broadgate House on West Street, 6pm to 8pm with further events on June 7, July 5, August 23, October 4 and November 15.

The first Long Sutton group meeting is at the Market House from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, May 3. Follow up meetings are on June 14, July 19, August 30 and November 22.

Hayley said: “I want to ensure no-one is alone. Everyone is welcome and the meetings will be places where people can swap ideas and hear from experts.
