LETTERS – Who will recycle crisp packets?

I had to read the article about crisp packet recycling twice in the February 28 issue of the Voice as I could not quite believe what I was reading.

How long has it been since we needed special places to dispose of crisp packets, especially Walkers, it would appear?

I have always put mine in the recycling back at home.

I have watched people, mainly young, but some old, eat from a sweet, sandwich or crisp packet and when finished, just chuck the wrapper in the street, most annoyingly where a rubbish bin is in full sight.

Do you think these sort of people, who have no regard for our towns, make a special journey to place their empty packets inside the council offices?

I think a much better suggestion was to contact Walkers and other crisp suppliers and tell them to re-invent a packet that can go into normal refuse.

Perhaps, in the case of Walkers, by getting rid of an over the hill footballer at an over the top salary would help toward the cost.
