TV presenter Jake Humphrey has thanked Donington’s fire crew who came to his aid following an accident.
Humphrey was on his way home after covering the FA Cup clash between Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United for BT Sport when his car was involved in the incident on the A17 near East Heckington shortly after 1.30am on Wednesday, January 16.
Fire fighters from Donington were among those called out to the incident which Humphrey (40) said he’d suffered “bumps and bruises” in.
The BT Sport and former BBC presenter tweeted a video from the scene and said: “Rather eventful journey home from Blackburn last night.
“Thankfully only a few bumps and bruises.
“I just want to call out the Lincolnshire Police, the brilliant local fire service…and the lovely family in East Heckington who got the kettle on.
“All great, kind folk. Thanks x”
Lincolnshire Police said they had responded to reports of a car hitting the central reservation.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “We were called out at 1.52am on Wednesday 16 January, to an RTC on the A17 involving a single vehicle.
“A crew from Donington attended, used absorbent granules on an oil spill and made the vehicle and road safe.”
