Andrew Kilby and Steve Borrett were well clear in this Sunday’s Tydd Gote Angling Club match on the North Level at Main Road.
However, it was Kilby again who just edged it with a net of 7lb 6oz to Borrett’s 6lb 13oz.
Both had mixed bags, alternating between far bank waggler and pole at 11m to see them almost 3lb in front of third placed Archie Greenwood on 4lb 8oz.
Boston-based Dennis Houghton drew the concrete, a renowned small fish peg and so it turned out as he caught on and off all day for 80 odd fish for a hard earned 4lb 5oz and fourth place.
Darren Williams was back on the bank but had a frustrating day as pike disrupted his swim for much of his match, but he still ended up with close to 3lb.
Result: Wednesday Open (Main Road) – 1st John Taylor 10lb 2oz; 2nd Pete Emery 9lb 14oz; 3rd Archie Greenwood 8lb 8oz.
