Thieves “attack” ATM at Spalding shop

Four offenders took cash after what police described as an “attack” on an ATM in Spalding in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, January 5).

The Late Shopper on Holbeach Road was targetted at 2.41am.

Those who live close to the shop took to social media to say they’d heard an explosion.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “We were called at 2.41am on Saturday, January 5 about attack on the ATM at The Late Shopper (Costcutter) store, Holbeach Road, Spalding.

“Offenders have taken cash cartridges from the ATM and then left the scene in a silver estate car. It is believed that four offenders were involved.

“Work is ongoing this morning to trace the offenders and the vehicle.”
