PDFL round-up: Rovers end Harrox’s hopes of retaining county crown

Moulton Harrox’s defence of the Lincs FA Junior Cup is over following a 2-1 defeat at Tetney Rovers on Saturday.

In a game played at Thoresby Road in Louth, the hosts raced into a 2-0 lead before Dalius Kisla pulled one back.

There was no late leveller for Kev Nottingham’s charges, who return to ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division action at Peterborough Sports Development this Saturday (2pm).

Meanwhile, Holbeach United Reserves climbed up to fourth in the PDFL Premier Division with a 2-0 triumph at Leverington Sports.
Liam Mead and Louis Steadman notched for Phil Barnes’ high-flying Tigers.

Also winning in the top flight were Tydd, who were inspired by Joe Reed’s hat-trick.

They defeated hosts ICA Sports 4-2, with Edwin Pentney the other scorer.

However, Long Sutton Athletic went 1-0 down at high-flying Netherton United and Sutton Bridge lost 4-1 at Ketton despite a Matt Eaton strike.

In Division One, goals from Aaron Eyett, Ricky Dickinson, Alex Lyon and Bede Finnigan fired Spalding Town to a 4-0 triumph at Whittlesey Athletic Reserves.

Also scoring four were Moulton Harrox Reserves, but they were held to a 4-4 draw at Wittering Harriers.

Down in Division Two, Spalding Athletic enjoyed a rare win as they beat hosts Feeder 3-1. Their goals came from Michael Kearns, Jake Scampion and Fabio Teixeira.

Divisional rivals Whaplode Drove lost 1-0 at Stamford Lions Reserves.
