Double delight for Anchor WA aces at Holbeach Pool League’s finals night

Top flight winners Anchor (WA) completed a memorable Holbeach and District Pool League double by lifting the Team KO Cup on finals night.

The Division One winners saw off league runners-up Anchor A in the final to round off a stellar season.

The other top team trophy up for grabs on the night, The Secondary Cup, went the way of Horse and Groom A after they saw off Hat and Feathers B.

STELLAR SEASON: Anchor D won the Division Two title and secured promotion.

On the singles front, Shane Balding defeated Chris Back to take the men’s prize, while Sheridan Bennett edged out Toni Willows to land the ladies’ crown.

Meanwhile, Alan Mason and Tom Horspool saw off Balding and Jimmy Ball to claim the coveted doubles title.

BIG WIN: Secondary Cup winners Horse and Groom A.

James Beacham (joint winner) and Dom Chapman were the Captain’s winners in Division One and Division Two respectively in what was the last of the individual honours.

Holbeach USC B also collected their Division Two runners-up crown on the night to round off the trophy giving.

The Holbeach and District League are holding their annual meeting on Thursday (tonight). That AGM will be held at the Anchor Inn (Sutton Bridge).
