Your say on the future of South Holland

The modified South East Lincolnshire Local Plan – which sets out the boundaries for town and village planning until the year 2036 – has been released.

Modifications have been made to the plans for South Holland’s towns and villages and a six-week public consultation has begun.

Views on the changes made following the examination hearing sessions are being welcomed by the council from this week until August 28.

The new Local Plan for South East Lincolnshire (covering the areas of Boston Borough Council and South Holland District Council) has been prepared to guide development and use of land in the area up until 2036.

The plan includes sites to be allocated for different types of development, such as housing and employment in order to meet the area’s needs, as well as identifying land which must be protected from development.

It also covers a wide range of other planning policies which, once adopted, can be used to judge planning applications.

The region currently has no Local Plan in place, so planning decisions are based on these yet-to-be-set plans.

All of the documents published for consultation are available online from July 12 at www.southeastlincslocalplan.org/proposed-main-modifications, in public libraries and mobile libraries and at the council offices in Boston and Spalding during office hours.

Comment forms are hosted on the above website and available in person from the council offices.

Send completed comment forms to [email protected] or by post, to Elaine Henton,

The Programme Officer, South East Lincolnshire Local Plan, Boston Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, West Street, Boston, PE21 8QR.
