Yoda yoga and lightsaber training for a top Jedi night in Long Sutton

There was no need for Solo efforts when the force was strong in Long Sutton for a Jedi event.

As the latest Star Wars movie hits the big screen, youngsters in Long Sutton were polishing their lightsabre skills for a Train Like a Jedi evening.

Organised as part of South Holland District Council’s SHout and About health campaign, there were Jedi combat classes, Yoda yoga and slime-making.

There were also competitions for the best-dressed and art on the theme of proud to live in South Holland.

Sophia, Isabella and Olivia Larsson.

“Spending the evening as a Jedi is just one of many creative and fun ways to keep active,” said Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for community and facilities.

Competition winners on the night were: Lily Briggs (art up to age 7); Tammy Franks (7-13), Melanie Wilkins (14 and over); best dresschild Amber Coleman and best dressed adult Amy Taylor. Nathaniel Allen won the obstacle course (up to 5); Patricija Undava (6 to 9) and Zac Wilkins (10-14).

There are a range of free activities and full details of them are on the SHout and About Facebook page.
