A silver anniversary of Chelsea Flower Show gold for Holbeach growers

To win one gold award at the Chelsea Flower Show is good; to win 25 in a row is just blooming marvellous.

That’s what Taylors Bulbs of Holbeach have achieved thanks to Johnny Walkers whose display of daffodils once again wowed the judges at the prestigious venue.

The fourth generation family business prides itself on the quality of its flowers which it has been producing since 1919.

Mr Walkers himself has won 29 gold awards in his 33 years of taking displays to the most prestigious flower show in the country organised by the Royal Horticultural Society.

Johnny said: “All of the gold awards are special, but I guess the 25th consecutive one is quite a milestone.

“I’m very pleased as the gold award is a very high standard and there’s no room for error with the judges.”
