Went for a walk around Spalding Town Centre this morning – and oh, what a mess of detritus and dereliction!
Victoria Road Car Park. A scene of lovely beauty? Oh no. A town centre deposit for any and all rubbish (just look at the origins of the rubbish – not from the UK!)
Next a walk down Abbey Path (pictured above) – what a total mess! This is supposed to be a site that will have apartments for 55-year-old people. Look at the Civic Society Report on this development. Yes the bomb site from WW2 needs to be redeveloped – but I despair of the SHDC’s ability to provide any planning for any sites within Spalding.
I found a sign at the end of Abbey Path, stating that anyone found guilty of fouling would be subject to a fine of £1000. How does that work?
Spalding Town is a disgusting mess of detritus – and as a Council Tax payer, I want the town to be cleaned up!
