Tapping into pupils’ talents as Holbeach school gets plumber qualification accreditation

The next generation of plumbers could be in the pipeline at University Academy Holbeach after its excellence in training them was recognised.

It has been awarded Approve Centre status by the industry’s professional body, the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE).

Geoff Westall, National President of CIPHE presented the plaque to Miss Lucy Mawer, head of plumbing and advocated the importance of working to the industrial standards set by CIPHE which allowed individuals to progress and establish themselves within the plumbing and heating sectors.

A spokesman for the school said: “The CIPHE plaque is presented in recognition of a centre providing high quality provision for plumbing and heating.

“Miss Mawer was delighted to accept the award which highlighted the success of the plumbing department team in producing well trained plumbers who were an asset to the plumbing and heating sector.

“Mr Westall was very impressed with the facilities at UAH and the dedication of the staff
and students.”
