Letters – Holbeach road resurfacing is disgrace

Upon reading in The Voice of the proposed resurfacing work to the road at Fleet Hargate being undertaken by Lincolnshire County Council, memory fast retracked to the fiasco of surface dressing at High Street, Holbeach plus Fleet Street and beyond.

Of course, us ordinary people do not know the job title of any road repair or work, we just quite simply know the outcome.

And outcome remains disgraceful to the dressing of High Street and Fleet Street, even after mechanical sweeping by request.

Pavements have loose chippings thrown up onto them, caused by traffic travelling the main road.

Cycle and mobility tyres have suffered punctures, and the sharpness of those stones can be felt underfoot if you do not search your footing when walking.

Would such disgraceful work by tolerated outside the council offices in Lincoln?

Even pothole repairs have varying quality. Some are seamfree and smooth, while others have insufficient filling, possibly being done quickly on a Friday afternoon.

Either way, where is the council inspection that confirms acceptance of such work?
