Saturday football: Super-sub Sanders sends Tigers top, five-star Harrox reach final

Charley Sanders bagged a 93rd-minute winner to give Holbeach United a 2-1 win over Harborough Town on Saturday – and a place at the top of the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division table.

The Tigers led 1-0 at the break thanks to a George Zuerner strike from a Luke Avis cross on 18 minutes, but it looked like they’d have to settle for a draw when Dan Forbes levelled eight minutes from time.

However, super sub Sanders bagged a brilliant winner three minutes into added time to move the Tigers level on points with Newport Pagnell Town at the top, but ahead of them on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Spalding United saw their Evo-Stik NPL First Division South game Gresley postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

It was a much better day for Moulton Harrox, though, as they cruised into the final of the Lincs FA Junior Cup with a 5-0 win over Sleaford Sports at Broad Lane.

Joe Townsend (18 and 80), Bobby Patterson (21), Marcus Parry (29) and Danny Lambe-Hyner (90) all netted to set up a Sincil Bank final against Boston League side Coningsby.

The first goal of the day was a header from Townsend, before Patterson forced home number two.

Parry that raced onto a poor pass-back to round the keeper and slot the third on the half hour.

Late goals from Townsend and Lambe-Hyner then gave Nigel Steadman’s side an emphatic victory as they bid to clinch the count crown once again.
