Purr-fect response to Christmas cat appeal

There will be a lot of happy cats this Christmas thanks to kind members of the public who brought cat food and other items to The Voice office for the Spalding Cats Protection appeal.

Cats Protection Volunteer Hannah Atkins collected the donated items, which included tins and bags of food, toys, litter trays, stockings of cat gifts and cat litter.

Sandra Gelsthorpe, who runs Spalding Cats Protection, said the response was “absolutely amazing”.

“It far exceeded what we thought we’d get,” Sandra added.

Sandra said the goods will be distributed between its six foster homes.

At the moment, the group has 12 cats up for adoption.
