Increased numbers for Holbeach Civic Society as membership grows

Membership is growing at Holbeach Civic Society with new members signing-up at the last meeting.

The society had been at risk of closing with a falling number of members and a lack of people coming forward to take roles within the organisation.

But Nick Worth has stepped in as chairman, Tracey Carter has taken the position of secretary, with Val Gemmel as treasurer and they hope their help will enable the society to grow.

The last guest speaker was Paul Jackson, of South Holland District Council, who spoke about the Local Plan in relation to the town. Members were able to ask questions after the event.

The next date will be the annual meeting at the National Centre for Food Manufacturing in January.

The date has yet to be confirmed.
