Spalding school staff and pupils raise charity cash

There was a real baking marathon before a fundraising coffee morning could be held at a Spalding school.

Spalding Parish Church of England Day School held the event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
School instructor Sarah Hendry baked more than 150 shortbread biscuits with the Year 6 pupils ready for the coffee morning.

The school also received a number of donated cakes and biscuits from families of pupils.

Teachers Amelia Siddall and Emma Weatherhill, both year 6 teachers, organised the event along with their pupils.

The coffee morning, on September 29, was well-attended and the school raised £254.17 for the charity.

The school will be celebrating harvest festival on October 20.
