LETTER: Thanks to all who made Pride awards a success

I would like to thank everyone who took part in the Pride of South Holland Awards this year.

Firstly a huge thank you to our sponsors, without whom none of this would have been possible.

A massive thank you to Mark Jepp, of Majestic Bingo, Coun Gary Taylor, Coun Angela Newton, Coun Harry Drury, Dave Aspinall, Terry Moore and his team from Bakkavor, Paul Watkins-Grove of EMG, Andy Molsom of Molsom Optometrist, Julie Atkinson from Springfields Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens, Julia Cole from Calthrops Solicitors, Graham Boor of Hughes and Coun Jack Mclean – your support made the awards ceremony possible.

To all those wonderful people who came on the day after being shortlisted – thank you for making this event so special. You may not have won anything, but your role made you all winners.

Thank you to Butters, Flowers ‘N Things and Freshlinc for providing floral displays especially for the stage, South Holland District Council for your support, Diamondz Dance & Craig Delaney’s “Choral to Arms” for their great performance, and finally the staff at the South Holland Centre – you were amazing as always, thank you for all your hard work and Emily Holmes for your help and support.

Without winners there wouldn’t be an awards ceremony, excellent winners in every category. Thank you to Sally Wilson, winner of Caring Neighbour, Hazel Wright (Service with a Smile), the amazing Peter Bailey (Young Achiever), John Grimwood (Senior Citizen Award), Bakkavor (Charity Worker), Lorraine Evans (Community Hero), Clare Johnson-Smith (Volunteer of the Year), Julie Smith (Special Achievement) and Holbeach United Girls Football Team (Community Sports Group) – your success will inspire us for another successful year.

There were two well deserved Lifetime Achievement Awards, going to Phil Scarlett and Terry Moore. Trevor Hyde was there to collect Phil’s clock.

X-Factor celebrity Chico got the party going with two of his new tracks and well known song It’s Chico Time helped by Peter Bailey at his side. Diamondz Dance were the backing dancers.

Chico deserves a special mention for helping present the show in epic style.

Special thanks also to Andy from Popcorn Media, I couldn’t have done it with you on the day and also the technical team from the South Holland Centre.

My final massive thanks has to go to Tom from The Voice, I certainly could not have completed everything if it wasn’t for him. All the changes that were made along the way and all the help and support you gave me was amazing, thank you.

It’s been a pleasure working with you all, I look forward to next year when we all get to do it again!
