Paul Crowson admits that the biggest challenge for Moulton Harrox this season could well be trying to keep the talented squad happy.
Moulton romped to an impressive 5-0 victory at Ketton on Saturday to maintain their unbeaten record in ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division and stay three points clear at the top.
Two first-half headers from defender Bobby Patterson and another nodded effort from Matt Watkin gave Harrox a 3-0 half-time lead at Pit Lane.
Second-half efforts from the in-form Louis Steadman and sub Marcus Parry rounded off the rout, leaving assistant boss Crowson very happy with what he saw.
But, with the likes of Ashley Coddington and Ainsley Johnson missing and reserve team players knocking on the door, the Harrox number two admits it’s getting harder and harder for he and boss Nigel Steadman to pick a side.
“Ketton are good side,” said Crowson. “But their keeper basically gifted us three goals in the first half.
“A great individual goal for Louis wrapped it up then Marcus, who could have scored five, finally got one.
“It was nice as, after the game, their manager told me he hopes we win the league.
“We all feel positive about our chances and the squad is looking good, but it’s going to be tough keeping them all happy – you can only pick 11.
“I’m very pleased with the start we’ve made and it’s all smiles here… unless you’re a player sat on the bench!”
Moulton make the short trip to Deeping Rangers Reserves this Saturday (2.30pm).
They have also been drawn away at Scunthorpe-based Sherpa in the next round of the Lincs Junior Cup.
That clash will take place on September 30, with Crowson admitting they are an “unknown quantity”.
