Rescue operation after calf makes a splash in West Pinchbeck drain

Firefighters were called to fish a newborn calf out of water when the animal fell down a drain bank.

Lincs Fire & Rescue said Spalding’s Specialist Water Rescue crews were called to Parson Drove, West Pinchbeck, at 3.45pm on Tuesday to assist a calf in difficulty in the water.

The crew rescued the cow using “animal strops, manpower and a 3m boat.”
