Holbeach United Community Sports Academy young guns toast top campaign at bash

More than 230 children got their hands on silverware as Holbeach United Community Sports Academy held their popular end of season presentation day last weekend.

Members of the Tigers’ under-7, under-8, under-9, under-10, under-11, under-12, under-13, under-14 and under-16 boys teams, plus the under-14 girls, were all at King’s Academy for the bash.

Those aged from under-7 to under-10 were at the Penny Hill facility in the afternoon, with the older teams taking over in the evening.

Each player received a squad trophy for being part of the club and then each individual manager gave out main awards, including the traditional players’ player of the season prizes.

The presentation day was a free event for all parents, players and supporters and, with donations and raffles, the club made more than £1,000 – which contributed to putting the event on.

Holbeach Community Sports Academy vice chairman Stuart Clark said: “This was our second presentation day since we opened the Academy back in June 2015.

“We had inflatables from Bourne Fun, a hog roast supplied by Trevor Sharon and bar and marquee supplied by Coronation Bars.

“Thanks go to all of them and everybody who attended.

“We are now looking forward to our tournament days on July 1 and 2.

“We have already seen 84 teams sign up to attend this year – and we are now unfortunately having to turn teams away.”
