Ladies’ night in Donington in memory of Deneez

A ladies’ night in memory of a popular Donington woman raised £1,885 for Spalding and Holbeach Macmillan Cancer Support.

Samantha Danyluk organised it to mark the tenth anniversary in June of the death of her mum Deneez Cook from pancreatic cancer at the age of 45.

Samantha said: “Macmillan were our heroes during this time.
“Mum knew how to have a great time – she would have loved the drag act!”

Deneez worked behind the bar of The Red Cow Hotel for many years.

Samantha’s helpers for the fundraiser at Donington Community Centre included Hayley Bray, Jo Graham, Yasmin Cuthbert, Andy Bray and Bob Danyluk.
And she thanks Lindsey Earth, of Totally Tasty burger van, for supplying catering and donating some of the profits, Gavin Lewis for doing the disco free of charge, and Laura Hudson for an “amazing” pole dance routine!
