Boiler breakdown leaves Castle bowling green with no heating for nine days

A boiler breakdown which has left Spalding’s indoor bowls green with no heating for more than a week is expected to be resolved today.(Friday, Jan 6)

The problem at the Castle Sports Complex venue occurred on Wednesday, December 27, and the festive period meant the repair has taken longer than some would have liked.

1Life operates the leisure complex on behalf of South Holland District Council.

A council spokesman said: “Unfortunately the boiler for the bowls area broke down over the Christmas period.

“A cover engineer attended the site and  spares were ordered which have taken a little longer to come due to the time of year. Our contractors 1Life quickly organised temporary heaters at no cost to the bowls club to be in place for their match.”
