Boxing Day football: Tulips up to second with Lincoln win but Tigers crash against Wisbech

An early own goal from ex-Tulip Michael Jacklin gave Spalding United a 1-0 win over Lincoln United on Boxing Day, while Holbeach United lost 3-1 at home to Wisbech Town.

The own goal settled a tight affair at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, moving Spalding up to second in Evo-Stik NPL First Division South.

In the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division, goals from Billy Smith (2) and Michael Frew sank the Tigers at Carter’s Park.

Both sides had a man sent off late on and Holbeach grabbed a last-gasp consolation through Ollie Pinner.

Dan Dougill and Sam Murphy were the players sent off.

More to follow.
