LETTER: We voted for Brexit – get on with it

Please do not insult our intelligence or try to twist things to suit your devious plans, by stating that the people who voted to leave the EU are unaware of the consequences of doing so.

The government were so arrogant in thinking that we would want to vote to remain in the EU that they, under David Cameron, spent nine million pounds of tax payers’ money to send us a propaganda booklet. It was a great shock to them when we voted to break free; especially since they had no plans set in place.

When we vote in a general or by-election, the results are final and binding, so why suddenly has our British voting system become such a farce? Can it be that those concerned have business or investment interests to safeguard in the EU?
When we, the people, voted to no longer be part of the EU then this should be legally binding, not a long drawn-out affair.
