COMMUNITY COLUMN: Plenty going on in Sutton Bridge

by Karen Johnson, community development officer at South Holland District Council

There have been various activities taking place recently in Sutton Bridge organised by the community development team and funded thanks to a successful bid with Leisure in the Community.

So far, we have seen some cooking sessions at the Children’s Centre with the first five week course starting on January 6 (booking is necessary).

We have also seen music and exercise combined in the unique form of ‘Beatsfit’, a fun activity for all ages and abilities getting participants moving with musical instruments.
You don’t need past experience to give it a go, so why not come along to the next free session on February 22 at The Curlew Centre (10.15am).

For our post-Christmas blues, we have LJ Bounce taster sessions coming up in January. Please watch out for advertisements as spaces are limited.
This is a high intensity, low impact and pain free way to exercise as well as being incredibly fun!

And finally, for something a little bit different we are going to set up an online photography community.
We will be asking people who live or work in Sutton Bridge to share their photos on Instagram from January 9 using #gosuttonbridge.
There will be a different theme each week for three weeks to kick start it and prizes will be up for grabs!
