A bid is being made to raise £1,000 in memory of an animal loving 18-year-old who died suddenly at her home in Moulton Seas End.
Uncertainty remains over what caused the tragic death of Sophie Evans in her sleep.
The Sophie’s Legacy appeal has been launched at her parents’ request by Sutterton Veterinary Practice where she had been a work experience student for three years.
A JustGiving page said: “On Monday 7th November Sophie peacefully passed away in her sleep. At only 18 years of age this was truly devastating for everyone who knew Sophie.
“With Sophie’s parents requesting, we are setting up a Sophie’s Legacy Fund, as she was so passionate about her animals. All donations made will be put in the fund and used to treat sick and injured animals which come to us without an owner. This way Sophie will live on helping the animals which she always dreamt of doing.”
The surgery’s South Lincs Vet Facebook page added: “We have set up a fund to keep Sophie’s memory alive for many years to come.
“The fund will help sick and injured animals which would otherwise suffer. Animal care was always a passion of Sophie’s and this is a way she will continue to help animals which need it.”
Emma Walker, practice manager, said: “Sophie was a really caring, lovely girl.”
Diabetes sufferer Sophie, a Boston College student, leaves parents Sharon and Darren, sister Hannah and grandparents Tony and Stella Evans and Margaret Gregory.
An inquest has been adjourned to a date to be set.
