The two sports clubs are each trying to secure enough votes to be considered for up to £25,000 whilst the schools are seeking up to £5,000.

  • Spalding Hockey Club, based at Glen Park, Surfleet, has more than 300 members and wants a permanent clubhouse to replace the mobile building and toilet it is currently relying on.
Its bid says: “We have great passion and belief in our club and our desire to succeed both on and off the pitch, but we need your vote so we can finally have a home for our family club.”
  • Spalding Rugby Club wants funds to relocate its juniors and minis to land off Drain Bank North, Cowit, as previously reported in The Voice.
Spalding Parish Day School, in Clay Lake, wants a new outdoor classroom to go alongside new garden areas it is planning.
Its bid says: “An outdoor classroom will add to the outside environment and be a great space for learning whilst still being able to see the new garden areas.”
  • The Garth Special School, in Pinchbeck Road wants to buy gardening equipment to assist its 16 to 19 year olds with a mini enterprise project, growing and selling produce.
