Rio-inspired day thrills residents and families at Hovenden House

Hovenden House held a Rio-inspired day to coincide with the Olympics and Paralympics.

Staff members at the Leonard Cheshire Disability home in Fleet and their families were invited to join residents.

The morning included an Olympic torch parade and games including welly throwing and basketball. A medal ceremony, which rewarded everybody who participated, was followed by a Brazil-inspired barbecue and refreshments.

In the afternoon a steel band entertained and a carnival parade had residents wearing fancy dress. Carol Shaw received a trophy for the best dressed.
