Trial of Spalding mental health support network under way

A trial version of a new mental health support scheme in Spalding is under way.

Community Mind Matters group and Tonic Health Centre jointly applied for £10,000 NHS funding for the scheme which offers local businesses free training in dealing with mental health issues and encourages them to pass it on to others within the organisation.
The premises with trained volunteers are then added to a list of local safe places, which will be promoted through print media, social media, and local medical centres.

A launch event is on Monday, October 10 (noon-2pm) and a Safe Place Meeting Group every Tuesday (4.30pm-6pm) starts on October 11. Both are at Tonic Health Centre, Broadgate House, Westlode Street.
